To Cherish Bridal was established by Alison in 2009 after discovering a gap in the wedding industry for curvy brides. From this grew a passion and determination to provide a service better refined and tailored to all brides in Canterbury and New Zealand, ensuring that every bride has the opportunity for a memorable experience and for feeling incredibly special and beautiful on her wedding day.

Now as the largest boutique in Christchurch, To Cherish offers over 450+ gowns from Australia and all around the world like New York, Netherlands, Barcelona, and more. 

With every style in store, it is guaranteed with the help of our fully trained consultants, that every bride receives the best attention and advice to help find the perfect gown.

I fully trained as a tailor/seamstress and part of my career was making wedding gowns. About 20 years ago I had a change and entered the world of retail. I worked at Ballantynes and loved the customer interaction. I then went into jewellery but had to make a change due to Covid-19 and found this amazing job as a bridal consultant at To Cherish Bridal in 2020. The opportunity to use my skills to help brides along their journey is a privilege which I love and take great pride in. In my spare time I love gardening, reading, and puzzles.

The wonderful team at To Cherish helped me find the perfect dress for my wedding last year. Walking down the aisle was one of the best moments of my life and now that my own wedding planning is over I want to help other women find their dream dress and create magic on their wedding day. I created To Cherish Bridal in 2009 in a very small way. My goal, and ambition, has been and still is to this day, to give every bride the opportunity to feel incredible on her wedding day and find the gown that completes their dream. My team is amazing and carry the same beliefs that I started this business for. I love running the business and focusing on the purchasing of beautiful dresses. I balance that all out with DIY projects, gardening, and walking my two gorgeous Maltese boys.
